Putting on a show is expensive! While our crowdfunding covers the artist stipends, it doesn't cover production or location costs, which we are paying out of our personal pockets. While admission is entirely free, if you can, any donations to cover these costs are welcome and encouraged! Donate now
Important Information for Hillcrest Park

Location/Parking: The performance will be held in the Reservoir Area at Hillcrest Park in Fullerton. The park address is 1200 N Harbor Blvd, but to reach the reservoir, we recommend entering via the entrance at the intersection of N Lemon St and Virginia Rd- see detailed directions and maps below with instructions for driving into the park, parking, and walking to the performance location from parking lots. The park can be confusing, so we recommend arriving with plenty of time to find parking and navigate the park.
Check-in: Check in begins at 5:30 pm. Please visit the check in area at the Reservoir entrance.
Seating: We will not have designated seating or chairs available- the seating is first come, first serve in the grassy area of the Reservoir, and we recommend bringing blankets, pillows, and/or lawn chairs to make your experience more comfortable. Please note that if you're bringing standard height chairs, we kindly ask that you sit further in the back, so audience members with shorter chairs or sitting on ground level can still see. We also recommend bringing anything that might make your personal outdoor experience more comfortable, such as sunscreen, bug spray, and warm layers.
Run Time: The show runs about one hour and will end around 7 pm; please note that we will need to vacate the area completely by 8 pm.
Restrooms: Public park restroom facilities are available, but please be aware that Beating of Wings has no power over their cleanliness or quality. The restrooms are not the greatest and are a little far away from the performance location, so we recommend using the restroom before arriving if at all possible. There is a Ralph's across Harbor Blvd and a Starbucks across Brea Blvd, and both of these are good restroom options.
Food, Drinks, and Trash: Please do not bring any open/visible alcohol containers. You may bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, but please be respectful of the public park space, and refrain from leaving any trash or personal items behind. We want to get our deposit back! (lol)
Accessibility: There are a few reserved handicap spots in the Reservoir parking area, and a ramp leading up to the lawn. However, the terrain is grassy and rough once arriving on the lawn and may be difficult to navigate. Some of the parking spots require walking slightly uphill and up some stairs to reach the performance area, and the park restrooms are a bit of a walk away from the performance location. Audience discretion is advised. Please email beatingofwingscollective@gmail.com with any questions or concerns.

We also recommend bringing anything that might make your personal outdoor experience more comfortable, such as sunscreen and bug spray.

Directions to the Hillcrest Park Reservoir (where the performance will occur)

Driving to the Park:
1) If headed south on Lemon Dr, turn right into the park entrance and continue up the hill on a one way street until to see the small parking area on your left. This entrance is only available if you are headed south on Lemon Dr, as there is no left turn into this entrance for northbound traffic. If headed north on Lemon Dr, continue to Shadow Ln, turn right, make a U-turn, and turn left to go south on Lemon Dr. back towards the park.
2) If that lot is full, you may take a right at the stop sign to the next small parking area a short way down the hill.
3) If headed east on E Valley View Dr., enter the park on your left just before the recreation center. Turn right at the stop sign and continue a short ways until you reach the larger parking lot on your left. This lot is also accessible if you take a left at the stop sign near the reservoir.
4) You may also enter the park via the main parking lot on the corner of E Valley View and Lemon and park there
